Cookware set recalled for exploding metal caps risk

A super popular cooking pan set that you might just have in your kitchen is now being recalled due to a scary issue involving metal pieces flying off during cooking. E Mishan & Sons is recalling around 740,000 Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue stainless steel sauté pan sets because a small metal cap can pop off the pan when heated up, putting people at risk for burns and other injuries.

The announcement went out on April 2, targeting two-piece sets that include 10-inch and 11.5-inch pans sold under the Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue name. The trouble centers around a screw that joins the pan to the handle, where the metal cap on that screw can come loose and shoot off while you’re cooking up a storm.

The company has noted around 98 incidents where the cap has come off and caused problems, like one case where a person got bruises and burns. So, if you’ve got these pans at home, the safest thing to do is to stop using them immediately and get in touch with E Mishan for a full refund. They’ll want the pans back, of course.

You could have picked up these sets at Costco stores or online on Costco.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com between August 2021 and February 2026 for about $40. To know if your pans are part of this recall, look on the packaging or the pans themselves for the “Granitestone Diamond Pro Blue” label.
