Michael Fassbender as JFK’s Father in First Look at Netflix’s Kennedy

Hollywood seems to have found a new fascination with exploring the lesser-known members of the Kennedy family lately. From FX’s Love Story delving into JFK Jr.’s relationship with Carolyn Bessette to Netflix’s upcoming series Kennedy, which offers a fresh perspective on JFK’s upbringing with his siblings. In a recent first-look photo, Netflix unveiled Michael Fassbender as family patriarch Joe Kennedy Sr., giving us a glimpse into what to expect from the show.

Showrunning the series is Sam Shaw from Castle Rock, promising to dig into “the intimate lives, loves, rivalries, and tragedies that shaped the most iconic dynasty in modern history.” The cast is pretty massive, with Laura Donnelly as Joe’s wife Rose, Imogen Poots as his mistress Gloria Swanson, and an array of actors portraying the Kennedy siblings.

The series also features familiar faces in JFK’s life, such as his friend Lem Billings played by Cole Doman, Dutch journalist Inga Arvad portrayed by Hera Hilmar, and aviator Charles Lindbergh played by Wyatt Russell. Plus, notable figures like Winston Churchill, J. Edgar Hoover, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt make appearances, adding depth to the historical context.

Filming for Kennedy has begun in London, but there’s no official release date for the 8-episode series on Netflix. It seems like viewers will have a lot to look forward to with this intriguing new take on the Kennedy family saga.
