Star Trek producer discusses Paramount Skydance talks

Star Trek fans, don’t worry – the future of the franchise is looking bright! With the recent Warner Bros. acquisition, there have been some concerns about what this means for our beloved Star Trek series. However, Alex Kurtzman, the man behind the scenes, has reassured us that there is plenty of support for both our current favorite shows and future ones to come.

In a recent interview, Kurtzman shared, “Yes, I’ve had conversations with them about the future of Star Trek. Yes, we’ve gotten nothing but support. Yes, there have been specific shows that have been discussed.” So, what can we expect? Well, get ready for season 2 of Starfleet Academy and the final two seasons of Strange New Worlds. Excitingly, three new Star Trek films were announced before the Warner Bros. acquisition, and there are likely even more shows in the works.

Fans can look forward to the follow-up to Strange New Worlds, titled “Star Trek: Year One,” as well as a live-action comedy featuring Tawny Newsome. It’s clear that Paramount Skydance has big plans for the Star Trek universe moving forward.

While there are still some legal hurdles to navigate before the merger is complete, Kurtzman is optimistic about the future of Star Trek under the upcoming Paramount/Skydance/Warner Bros. banner. So, rest assured, Trekkies – there’s plenty of exciting content on the horizon! For more Star Trek news and updates, be sure to check out the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages.
