Netflix Raises Prices: What You Need to Know

If you’re a Netflix subscriber, you might have noticed a change in your monthly bill. That’s right, Netflix has raised its prices once again. The most affordable, ad-supported tier now costs $8.99 per month, up from $7.99. The standard plan without ads has also gone up by $2, now priced at $19.99 per month, and the premium plan will now set you back $26.99 monthly.

Adding extra viewers to your account will also cost a bit more now. To add a user to an ad-supported plan, it’s $6.99, and for an ad-free plan, it’s $9.99.

Netflix explained to TechCrunch that these price increases reflect improvements to their entertainment offerings and the quality of service they provide. New members signing up will see these new prices right away, while existing subscribers will see the changes roll out gradually in the coming months with notifications sent by email a month before the new prices kick in.

The last time Netflix raised its prices was in January 2025, but since then, they’ve added new features like video podcasts and more livestreaming content. They’ve also announced plans to revamp their mobile app and expand their short-form video content.

This price hike comes as Netflix recently backed out of a bid for Warner Bros. Discovery, choosing not to compete with Paramount Skydance’s superior offer. As a Netflix subscriber, these price changes may affect your monthly bill, so keep an eye out for notifications from the streaming service.
