Netflix Price Increase: What You Need to Know
Netflix subscribers, get ready for some changes—yes, you guessed it. The streaming giant is once again increasing its prices. The standard plan, for instance, will now cost $8.99/month, up from $7.99. That’s not all—the Standard plan, which allows for simultaneous use on two devices, is now $19.99/month, up from $17.99, and the Premium plan, with all the bells and whistles like Ultra HD and HDR, is now $26.99/month, up from $24.99. And these new prices are effective immediately.
If this feels like déjà vu, you’re not wrong. Netflix last raised its prices in January of 2025, despite a surge in new subscribers. And remember back in 2023 when the Basic plan was phased out? Good times. These price increases also come on the heels of some major company maneuvers—Netflix withdrew from a bidding war for Warner Bros. Discovery last January, promising subscribers that nothing would change, only to let Paramount take over instead.
But fear not—Netflix remains a powerhouse in the streaming world. With massive hits like KPop Demon Hunters and fan-favorites like Bridgerton and One Piece, Netflix reported a whopping $45.2 billion in revenue last year and boasts a total of 325 million subscribers. So, while price hikes may not be fun, they haven’t slowed down Netflix’s success one bit.
