Historic Flooding Hits Hawaii, Thousands Evacuated Including Jason Momoa

Jason Momoa recently shared on Instagram that he had to evacuate his home in Hawaii due to severe storms causing dangerous flooding. Alongside his family, including his girlfriend Adria Arjoni, they left O’ahu’s North Shore as their home lost power in the heavy rain and rising waters. Despite being safe, Jason expressed concern for others affected by the flooding.

The extreme weather has resulted in the worst flooding the islands have seen in over twenty years, with mass evacuations near the Wahiawa dam as it faced a risk of failing. Up to 12 inches of rain fell in certain areas, creating life-threatening conditions in communities like Haleiwa and Waialua. Emergency services provided shelter for over 130 residents as the situation unfolded.

Jason, who was born in Honolulu, shared footage of the flood damage near his father’s home, urging locals to prioritize safety. The actor had to cancel a planned music event due to the dangerous conditions. He also reflected on the impact of the storms on Hawaii, mentioning the efforts he and his friends made to support struggling communities.

Currently, all of Hawaii remains under a flood watch, with officials cautioning that damages could exceed $1 billion to infrastructure, homes, and transportation networks. Jason encouraged people to check on one another and assist wherever possible, emphasizing the importance of spreading aloha in times of need.
