Shane Gillis and Kevin Hart Set to Roast Each Other on Netflix
This year’s Netflix Is A Joke Festival promises to bring the laughs with Mechanicsburg’s own Shane Gillis taking on the hosting duties while Kevin Hart from North Philly faces the heat of a roast. Hart, known for his quick wit and sharp tongue, sets the stage for a hilarious night, as seen in his latest Netflix special Acting My Age where he doesn’t hold back on himself. If other comedians follow his lead, we’re in for a side-splitting show.
The Netflix Is a Joke Festival is a comedy extravaganza put together by Netflix and Live Nation, featuring hundreds of live comedy shows at iconic venues in Los Angeles like the Hollywood Bowl and Laugh Factory. Back in 2024, Hart co-hosted The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady, which turned out to be one of Netflix’s most successful shows with billions of minutes viewed. The event featured cutting comments from comedian Nikki Glaser and A-listers like Kim Kardashian, Peyton Manning, and Ben Affleck.
Even Tom Brady himself, the subject of the roast, doesn’t mind a little good-natured ribbing. At the recent Fanatics Football Classic Draft, he was seen playfully teasing Cincinnati Bengal quarterback Joe Burrow. And this year, Shane Gillis will be at the helm of Kevin Hart’s roast. Gillis’ show, Tires, received a $6 million tax credit from Pennsylvania’s Film Production Tax Credit Program. The Netflix Is a Joke Festival is set to run from May 4-10 at various venues in Los Angeles. Sounds like a lineup you won’t want to miss!
