Jason Bateman to Direct Netflix Thriller “The Cackling of the Dodos”

Jason Bateman is set to direct a live-action thriller for Netflix called “The Cackling Of The Dodos” starring Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson. This exciting announcement was made by film head Dan Lin at the Next On Netflix 2026 event in Hollywood. The movie tells the story of George, a small-town farmer who finds a corpse in a grain bin and ends up in a chaotic cover-up orchestrated by his boss Denny. The screenplay, penned by novelist Rye Curtis, serves as the foundation for this gripping tale.

Bateman, who recently received an Actor Award nomination from SAG-AFTRA for Netflix’s “Black Rabbit,” has also worked with the streamer on the thriller “Carry-On.” Harrelson, known for his roles in comedy dramas like “Ella McKay,” and Rockwell, the lead in Constantin Film’s action-packed “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die,” will surely deliver stellar performances in this star-studded film.

Exciting news also emerged from Hong Kong’s Edko Films, revealing the full star-studded cast of “Cold War 1994.” These announcements add to the anticipation and enjoyment for fans of quality streaming entertainment. Stay tuned for more updates on these upcoming projects!
