Mormon Wives Star Mikayla Matthews Divorces Jace Terry after 8 Years of Marriage
Mikayla Matthews, star of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” has announced her separation from Jace Terry after eight years of marriage. The decision to separate was mutual, as revealed by Matthews in a confessional during Season 4 of the show.
The couple’s challenges, including intimacy issues and Matthews’ past experiences of sexual abuse, were highlighted as major storylines throughout the season. Despite starting couples therapy in the previous season, they admitted to not making significant progress.
Matthews, who is 25, and Terry, who is 30, have four children together: Beckham, 8, Haven, 6, Tommie, 4, and Lottie, born in July 2025. The couple also shared on the show that Matthews needs to focus on healing from childhood sexual abuse, which has impacted their relationship.
In a poignant scene where Matthews was packing her things to move out of their shared home, both she and Terry continued to address their issues. Matthews expressed her fears about losing Terry while acknowledging the challenges in their marriage, especially related to intimacy.
The separation was made with the well-being of their children in mind, and Matthews emphasized that she plans to see their kids every day despite the separation. She admitted uncertainty about how long the separation would last, as healing from these issues could take weeks or months.
Despite the difficulties, Matthews reflected on the strong aspects of their marriage outside of intimacy struggles and expressed hope for the future. “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” Season 4 is currently available to stream on Hulu.
