Apple Boosts Film and TV Activity in Westchester

Apple Studios is ramping up its production presence in Westchester, signing a lease in Port Chester for post-production work. Post-production is where all the magic happens, with raw footage being transformed into the final product we see on our screens. This process can involve film, digital files, or a mix of both, and requires high-tech editing suites, sound design studios, and other tools for tasks like editing, color grading, sound mixing, creating visual effects, and reviewing finished work.

The short-term lease at 14-20 Willet Ave. in Port Chester will see Apple Studios taking up 3,108 square feet of renovated space, complete with offices, a conference room, kitchenette, and an open bullpen area. This deal was brokered by Houlihan Lawrence Commercial, involving their talented team of Russ Detres and Kim Galton.

Apple Studios, known for its diverse content including films, television series, and podcasts, is led by former Sony Pictures Television executives Jamie Erlicht and Zack Van Amburg. While they’re based in California, Apple Studios has chosen Westchester as a hub for recent projects, like “Your Friends and Neighbors” and “The Off Weeks,” which have been filmed in various local areas.

Looking ahead, Apple’s series “Severance” is gearing up for a new season, with past scenes shot in Pleasantville, White Plains, and other spots in central Westchester. Apple’s growing presence in the region is a promising sign for film and TV activity, bringing exciting opportunities to our backyard.
