Apple TV Reveals New Docuseries: Twisted Yoga

Apple TV dropped the exciting news about its upcoming docuseries, Twisted Yoga. This three-part series is a collaboration between the prestigious Oscar- and Emmy Award-winning filmmakers at Lightbox Entertainment and Ladywell Films. You can catch a glimpse of what’s in store by watching the trailer.

Heading the project are Simon Chinn, a two-time Academy Award winner for “Man on Wire” and “Searching for Sugarman,” along with Emmy Award winner Jonathan Chinn, Suzanne Lavery, and Bernadette Higgins. The series is in good hands, with Rowan Deacon directing. Deacon’s previous works include titles like “Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story” and “How to Die: Simon’s Choice.” Get ready to mark your calendars for March 13th when Twisted Yoga debuts on Apple TV globally.

The storyline follows a group of young yoga enthusiasts from various corners of the planet who are drawn to the ancient practice in pursuit of inner peace and meaning. However, their journey takes a dark turn when they cross paths with Gregorian Bivolaru, a reclusive Romanian “guru” and spiritual leader. Bivolaru runs an international network of yoga studios focused on tantric rituals. Suspicions arise among the students, leading them to question whether they’ve unknowingly become part of a cult. Revelations unveil Bivolaru’s troubled past, with accusations including human trafficking, kidnapping, and rape, which he vehemently denies. As these students, particularly women, collaborate with French authorities to seek justice, the series promises to be both gripping and revealing.

Twisted Yoga is a joint effort by Lightbox and Ladywell Films, with Simon Chinn, Jonathan Chinn, Suzanne Lavery, and Bernadette Higgins on board as executive producers. Be sure not to miss the global premiere on Apple TV starting March 13th!
