Fells Point Attempted Murder: Witness Testimony in Progress

The trial of Christopher Peacock, a 34-year-old man, continued on March 5 in Baltimore City with testimony from investigators who were at the Fells Point crime scene. Peacock faces charges of attempted murder, assault, firearm use, reckless endangerment, and other gun offenses related to an incident on July 20, 2025, at an apartment complex on the 900 block of Fell Street. Allegedly, Peacock tried to shoot the victim in the head, but his gun malfunctioned. The charging documents indicate that during his second attempt, the bullet hit the floor instead.

In the courtroom, the prosecutor claimed that the shooting happened after the victim informed a friend at the apartment that Peacock had a gun and needed to leave. The prosecution argued that Peacock’s intent to kill was clear, pointing out that he was standing upright, emphasizing his awareness of his actions.

Body-worn footage displayed the search of Peacock’s car, where investigators found a gun, seven cartridges, and a magazine. Additional ammunition was reportedly discovered in Peacock’s pockets. Police also found two cartridges in the apartment, and it was later confirmed that all the recovered ammunition likely belonged to the gun recovered from Peacock’s car.

According to a ballistics expert’s testimony, the gun retrieved was functional.

The trial is scheduled to continue on March 6.
