Palm Royale Cancelled: Apple Axes Show After Two Seasons
Palm Royale, the comedy series starring Kristen Wiig, Carol Burnett, Laura Dern, and more, won’t be making a comeback for a third season. The show, created by Abe Sylvia, will be concluding after two seasons, with the season two finale airing on Jan. 14.
The Emmy-nominated series featured a star-studded cast, including Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, and others, who portrayed characters in a high-society setting in Palm Beach, Florida. The show followed Wiig’s character, Maxine Dellacorte, as she navigated the competitive world of Palm Royale.
In the season two finale, viewers witnessed Maxine’s struggle to overcome the aftermath of her scandalous public breakdown from the first season. The finale, which now serves as the series finale, included a surprising revelation from Norma Dellacorte (Carol Burnett) and a pivotal confession.
Throughout its run, Wiig received recognition with nominations for an Actor Award and a GLAAD Media Award for her performance in season two. The first season of the show also garnered 11 Emmy Award nominations.
“Palm Royale” was produced by Apple Studios and creator Abe Sylvia.
