New Fruit Bowl and Smoothie Chain Coming to St. Louis

A popular fruit bowl and smoothie chain called Playa Bowls is gearing up to make its way to St. Louis soon. The company, known for its extensive menu boasting over 40 items, including acai, pitaya, green, and coconut bowls, as well as oatmeal bowls, juices, smoothies, and cold brews, has already established more than 400 locations across the nation.

Set to mark its first appearance in Clayton this fall, local health care executive Jeff Ciaramita and his wife Brittany are the masterminds behind the franchise deal that will bring Playa Bowls to the St. Louis market. Jeff, a cardiologist and senior vice president at St. Louis-based nonprofit health system Mercy, is expected to leverage his expertise in operations and financial management to drive the success of the restaurant chain in the region. On the other hand, Brittany, a board-certified specialist in orthopedic physical therapy with vast experience in working with Division I athletes, brings her unique insights and skills to the table.
