NASCAR Focuses on Daytona 500 and Prime Video Platform
NASCAR’s popular “Full Speed” docuseries is making a big move from Netflix to Prime Video this year. And get this—it’s all about the Daytona 500 in 2026! The series kicked off back in 2024, diving deep into the 2023 Cup Series playoffs. NASCAR was all in, shelling out $5M to join the sports documentaries craze.
Season two followed suit, hitting the screens in May 2025, and recapping the 2024 playoffs. But here’s where things get interesting: Season three is shaking things up by skipping the 2025 season. Instead, it’s giving us a single, action-packed 85-minute documentary on this year’s Daytona 500, which just revved up a few weeks ago. The premiere is set for March 5, making it a quicker roll-out than the first two seasons. And hey, if you missed out on those, don’t worry—they’ll also be up for grabs on Prime Video. How cool is that?
So, who’s in the spotlight this time? Well, Tyler Reddick from 23XI Racing took home the Daytona 500 trophy, but we’ll also get to see more on Kyle Busch, Connor Zilisch, Brad Keselowski, and Noah Gragson. Zilisch, backed by Red Bull, is being hailed as the next big thing in NASCAR. Keselowski faced some tough times, battling back from a skiing accident, while Busch is gearing up for a make-it-or-break-it year. And let’s not forget Gragson—who always keeps us on our toes with his unpredictable style.
The show’s still in good hands, with NASCAR Studios, Word + Pictures, Tim Mullen, and Jackie Decker at the helm. And with exec producers like Tim Clark, John Dahl, Tally Hair, Ben Kennedy, Connor Schell, Aaron Cohen, and Nick Eisenberg, we know we’re in for a treat! Plus, Prime Video is now part of NASCAR’s media lineup, airing five Cup races each year. Coming up next? The Coke 600 on Memorial Day Weekend, followed by the Navy Base Coronado street race near San Diego in June.
And to top it off, the first season of “Full Speed” raked in 3.4 million views on Netflix in just half of 2024! Can you believe it? In 2025, the series hit 900,000 views after its May release, with another 200,000 views throughout the year. Looks like “Full Speed” is picking up speed with each lap—it’s definitely one to watch!
