Cavaliers sign Minix to two-way contract for Charge Basketball

The Cleveland Cavaliers have added forward Riley Minix to their roster through a Two-Way contract, as confirmed by Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations, Koby Altman.

Minix, standing at 6-7 and weighing 230 pounds, has been making waves on the court. In his 12 games with the Cleveland Charge this season, where he started in all matches, he’s been averaging an impressive 19.3 points, shooting at 55.6% from the field and 45.7% from beyond the arc. Additionally, he’s been contributing 6.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 steals in just over 31 minutes per game. His skills were brought to Cleveland after a trade involving the Austin Spurs and Westchester Knicks, landing him with the Charge. Prior to this, Minix played 11 games for the Austin Spurs, where he put up 15.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.0 steals while starting in all matches. Since joining the Charge, he’s had several standout performances, notably scoring 27 points with a remarkable 60% shooting accuracy from three-point range in a recent victory over Raptors 905.

Although Minix went undrafted in 2024, he signed a Two-Way contract with the San Antonio Spurs later that year, appearing in four NBA regular-season games. He’s also had significant playing time with the Austin Spurs and a total of 42 games in the G League, maintaining strong stats throughout his career.

Originally from Florida, Minix played college basketball at Morehead State, where he was named OVC Player of the Year in 2024. Prior to this, he spent four seasons at Southeastern in the NAIA.

Now part of the Cavaliers roster, Minix joins Tristan Enaruna and Emanuel Miller as a Two-Way player, bringing depth and skill to the team.

Meanwhile, in other news, Cleveland Charge Center Norchad Omier is set to play in the NBA G League Next Up Game at NBA All-Star 2026 in Los Angeles this weekend. The game will kick off at NBA Crossover at the LA Convention Center on Sunday, February 15 at 2:30 p.m. EST and will be broadcast live on the NBA Channel.
