Rachel Reid recently appeared on “Open Book with Jenna” to discuss some popular theories surrounding her hit series, “Heated Rivalry.” The romance novel series, “Game Changers,” authored by Reid, gained a huge following with the TV adaptation of “Heated Rivalry” by Crave and HBO Max.

Fans of the show can rejoice as “Heated Rivalry” has been renewed for a second season, expected to debut in spring 2027. Additionally, a third book in the series focusing on Shane and Ilya is also in the works.

One hotly debated topic among fans is the possibility of a standalone seventh episode. Speculation arose from comments made by Bell Media VP Justin Stockman, hinting at the potential for an extra episode. When asked about this by Jenna, Reid shared her surprise, indicating that it is news to her as well.

Another burning question on fans’ minds is whether Scott Hunter, a character in the series, knows about Shane and Ilya’s romance. Through TikTok analyses and key moments in the show, fans have speculated about Scott’s awareness. Reid provided her take, suggesting that while in the show Scott may be clued in, it’s not the case in the books.
