Oscar-Nominated Editor Andrew Weisblum collaborating on Greta Gerwig’s Narnia film
Andrew Weisblum, an Oscar-nominated editor, is set to work on Greta Gerwig’s film adaptation of “The Magician’s Nephew.” Weisblum is known for his work with filmmakers Darren Aronofsky and Wes Anderson, and has received Academy Award nominations for his editing on movies like “Black Swan” and “tick, tick… BOOM!”.
Although no official announcement has been made about Weisblum’s involvement in the project, a photo from the first day of filming appears to show him on set with Gerwig. In a recent interview, Weisblum shared his approach to editing adaptations, emphasizing the importance of making the story clear and standalone for all viewers, whether they are familiar with the source material or not.
Production of the film has concluded in London, with a team that includes Gerwig, Weisblum, production designer James Chinlund, cinematographer Seamus McGarvey, costume designer Jacqueline Durran, and composers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.
