Awkwafina to Host Apple TV Travel Series ‘The Unlikely Cook’
Awkwafina is set to host a new Apple TV series called ‘The Unlikely Cook,’ which has already been greenlit for eight episodes. In this unscripted food show, Awkwafina, also known as Nora Lum, will take viewers on a personal journey across the country to explore contemporary Asian American cuisine. Despite growing up in her family’s Cantonese restaurant in Flushing, NY, Awkwafina admits she can’t cook at all.
The series will delve into her family’s culinary legacy and showcase Awkwafina’s attempts to reconnect with her roots through food. Joining her on this adventure will be chefs, restaurateurs, and of course, her own family members. Awkwafina expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to explore her family history through the lens of food in a recent statement.
While no premiere date has been announced yet, fans can look forward to watching Awkwafina navigate the kitchen and learn more about Asian cuisine in this exciting new series. Stay tuned for updates on ‘The Unlikely Cook’ coming soon to Apple TV.
