2026 Golden Trail World Series Calendar Revealed
The 2026 Golden Trail World Series calendar has been released and it’s shaping up to be an exciting season! Spanning three continents and eight countries from May to October, this year’s series will feature three new venues and two countries making their debut on the trail running circuit. The season will kick off on May 17 at Zegama-Aizkorri in Spain, a race known for its challenging course and incredible atmosphere.
After Zegama-Aizkorri, the series will head to Valle di Ledro in Italy, showcasing a demanding and technical course with stunning views along the way. For the first time ever, the GTWS will make its way to Canada on July 5 with the Quebec Mega Trail, a 30-kilometer loop around Mont-Sainte-Anne that promises to be a legendary event.
Continuing the action, on August 1, the Salomon Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail in Austria will offer participants a high-altitude challenge with breathtaking backdrops. The series will then stop at the iconic Sierre-Zinal in Switzerland on August 8, known as “The race of the five 4000ers” and an event that attracts top trail runners from around the world.
The season will close with an exciting three-race final in Asia, starting with the Myoko Trail in Japan on September 20. Set against the backdrop of the Myoko Mountain Range, this race promises a challenging route with stunning views of the region. The Asian triple header will finish with a grand finale in South Korea at Muju Trail on October 24-25, where the GTWS season champion will be crowned.
With increased prize money, new sporting developments, and continued broadcast innovation across various platforms, the 2026 GTWS season is set to be one for the books.
