Stallone to Portray Benny Binion’s Life on TV
Sylvester Stallone, along with “Yellowstone” star Cole Hauser and MGM Television, is teaming up to bring the story of Las Vegas legend Benny Binion to the small screen. The series is based on Doug J. Swanson’s book “Blood Aces: The Wild Ride of Benny Binion, the Texas Gangster Who Created Vegas Poker.” In a statement to Deadline, Hauser expressed his excitement about portraying Binion, highlighting his ambitious and controversial nature. Binion, who opened Binion’s Horseshoe in 1951, was known for catering to high rollers with its generous limits. The iconic casino also became the birthplace of the World Series of Poker in 1970. Binion’s influence extended beyond the world of gambling, as he played a pivotal role in bringing the National Finals Rodeo to Las Vegas in 1985. Binion’s legacy lives on in a statue of him at South Point, a tribute to his lasting impact on the city. With Stallone and Balboa Productions on board as producers, the upcoming series promises to be an exciting and compelling exploration of Binion’s extraordinary life and achievements.
