Bluey Dominates US Streaming Charts for Second Consecutive Year – 45 Billion Minutes Watched (2025)
In 2025, the beloved Australian children’s cartoon series Bluey once again captured the hearts of audiences in the US, becoming the most streamed show for the second consecutive year. Viewers in the US enjoyed a whopping 45.2 billion minutes of Bluey on Disney+, marking a slight decrease from the previous year but still an impressive feat considering the show’s 154 episodes, most of which are less than 10 minutes long.
Following closely behind Bluey was the enduring medical drama Grey’s Anatomy, which held onto its second-place ranking with 40.9 billion minutes watched. The top spots in the streaming charts were predominantly occupied by what Nielsen calls “library series” – long-running shows with extensive back catalogues, such as Family Guy, NCIS, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Despite the dominance of these established series, Netflix’s original hit, Stranger Things, managed to break into the top 10, garnering nearly 40 billion minutes of watch time. The release of its fifth and final season in late November and December undoubtedly contributed to its success. Worth noting is that Stranger Things’s final season dropped on New Year’s Eve, just after Nielsen’s 2025 calendar ended.
Bluey wasn’t the only show bringing joy to both young and old audiences, as SpongeBob SquarePants also made it to the top 10 in 2025. Fans of Bluey will be pleased to know that while a new season has yet to be announced, the creator, Joe Brumm, has exciting plans for the future. Stepping away from the series, Brumm will be working on a full-length movie adaptation set to hit theaters in 2027.
As fans eagerly await news of a potential fourth season, the producer of Bluey, Sam Moor, reassured listeners on BBC Radio 4’s Today program that this is not the end for the lovable blue heelers. With promises of more surprises in store, and ABC confirming that there are no plans to end the show, it looks like the adventures of Bluey and her family are far from over.
