New Thriller from M. Night Shyamalan Gains Popularity on Netflix

M. Night Shyamalan’s latest thriller “Trap” is making waves on Netflix, shooting up the platform’s global rankings and becoming the most-watched film. Since its release in 2024, the movie has found a new surge in popularity on streaming platforms, especially in countries like Canada, the Bahamas, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from both critics and audiences, “Trap” has been a commercial success, raking in around $83 million worldwide. Its recent spike in viewership on Netflix has brought it back into the spotlight after its initial theatrical run.

Set in Philadelphia, “Trap” follows Cooper, a firefighter and devoted father who takes his daughter Riley to a concert by pop star Lady Raven as a reward for her good grades.
