Dana White addresses advertising concerns following UFC’s Paramount+ debut
A new era of mixed martial arts kicked off this past Saturday night with UFC 324 making its official debut on Paramount+ as the new home of the sport. The event featured some incredible fights, but fans couldn’t help but notice an uptick in advertisements that interrupted the coverage.
UFC president Dana White was quick to address the issue at the end of the evening, reassuring fans that it wasn’t a major concern. However, many viewers took to social media to express their frustration with the ad-heavy broadcast.
For $8.99 a month, Paramount+ offers subscribers access to live fights, but the influx of ads during key moments left some fans disappointed. Dana White lightheartedly joked during a press conference, saying, “It’s $8.99… These guys have to make some money too.”
One specific complaint fans had was that corner discussions between rounds were cut short by ads, missing out on valuable insights from coaches and trainers. This could be a significant point of contention for UFC moving forward, especially after signing a massive $7 billion deal in 2025 to make Paramount+ the sport’s exclusive home for at least seven years.
Despite the ads, UFC 324 was a thrilling event that set the stage for a new chapter in mixed martial arts history. Fans can expect more action-packed fights on Paramount+ in the future, although hopefully with a bit fewer interruptions.
