Netflix Boosts 2026 Oscar Nominees: Full List
Netflix wasted no time in celebrating its 2026 Oscar nominees by adding the “Oscar nominee” label to its top movies that made it onto this year’s list. This means you can easily watch them on the platform, unlike some other nominees that are harder to find. If you’re wondering where to watch films like The Secret Agent, don’t worry—I’m in the same boat! Some movies, like Sinners and One Battle After Another, might eventually make their way to streaming services if Netflix ends up acquiring WB.
When you log in to Netflix, you’ll notice these movies tagged with the awards they’ve been nominated for:
– Frankenstein: Nominated for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Jacob Elordi), Best Adapted Screenplay (Guillermo del Toro), Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Original Score, Best Sound, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
– Train Dreams: Nominated for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay (Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar), Best Cinematography, and Best Original Song for “Train Dreams.”
– KPop Demon Hunters: Nominated for Best Animated Film and Best Original Song for “Golden.”
– The Perfect Neighbor: Nominated for Best Documentary Feature.
In the past, Netflix has received 10 Best Picture nominations, and this year, it has two more to add to the list. The other movies that received nominations in the past include Emilia Perez, Maestro, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Power of the Dog, Don’t Look Up, Mank, The Trial of the Chicago 7, The Irishman, Marriage Story, and Roma. So far, the only streaming service to win Best Picture is Apple TV with CODA in 2022.
While Netflix may not win this year, movies like Sinners or One Battle After Another are strong contenders. KPop Demon Hunters, on the other hand, is expected to win Best Animated Feature and Best Song based on its success at other award shows.
If Netflix ends up acquiring WB, it could change the game, blurring the lines between traditional studios and streaming services. It will be interesting to see if an acquisition like this would be considered a win for a streaming service in the Oscars race. Stay tuned for more updates!
