Fans of the classic 1980s toy brand Masters of the Universe have something exciting to look forward to this summer. The live-action film adaptation is set to hit theaters in the U.S. on June 5, 2026, distributed by Amazon MGM Studios. Nicholas Galitzine takes on the lead role as Prince Adam/He-Man, with star-studded support from Jared Leto and Idris Elba. The film is directed by Travis Knight, known for his work on Bumblebee.
In this epic adventure, director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back to the big screen. The story follows Prince Adam as he returns to Eternia after 15 years of separation, only to find his home under the control of the villainous Skeletor. To save his family and his world, Adam must team up with his allies Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, embracing his destiny as the powerful He-Man.
The impressive cast also includes Camila Mendes, Kristen Wiig, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Charlotte Riley. The screenplay is penned by Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham.
