‘One Battle After Another’ Wins Big at Golden Globes with 4 Victories
“Wow, what a night for ‘One Battle After Another’! The action-packed thriller, which was filmed in part in El Paso, cleaned up at the Golden Globe Awards. Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio del Toro’s movie took home a total of four awards during the ceremony on Jan. 11, broadcast live from Beverly Hills, California on CBS and Paramount +.
Filming in El Paso for 18 days in 2024, ‘One Battle After Another’ made a significant impact on the local economy, contributing nearly $6 million in direct spending, as reported by Destination El Paso. A big portion of this spending went towards constructing two major sets, which required a lot of materials and labor.
Local residents in El Paso were thrilled to spot DiCaprio and del Toro around town. The actors were seen filming in the Downtown area and even grabbing a bite at Cafe Central. Del Toro also made an appearance at a Chihuahuas baseball game!
The film took home several prestigious awards including Best Comedy or Musical, Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Screenplay for Anderson, and Best Supporting Actress for Teyana Taylor. DiCaprio was also nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical but lost out to Timothée Chalamet for his role in ‘Marty Supreme.’
If you’re itching to watch ‘One Battle After Another’ for yourself, you’re in luck! The movie is available for streaming on various platforms such as Amazon Prime, HBO Max, Hulu, YouTube TV, and Apple TV.
