Kristin Davis on Closing Chapter for ‘Sex and the City Role’

Kristin Davis recently spoke with PEOPLE about whether she considers the chapter closed for her Sex and the City character, Charlotte York. In an exclusive interview at the Golden Globe Awards’ Golden Eve event, Davis shared her thoughts on the conclusion of the Sex and the City revival series, And Just Like That… Her answer was a firm “No.”

And Just Like That… saw the return of the beloved Sex and the City ladies, including Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbes, and Charlotte York Goldenblatt, exploring life in their 50s. The decision to wrap up the series after three seasons was announced just two weeks before the finale aired. Showrunner Michael Patrick King explained that they felt it was a wonderful place to end the series.

Davis expressed her sadness at the series ending, sharing her love for the cast and crew as well as their loyal fans. Despite the surprise of the show coming to an end, she remains grateful for the experience. Davis also touched on presenting Sarah Jessica Parker with the Carol Burnett Award, calling it an “amazing honor.”

Reflecting on her award speech for Parker, Davis shared on her podcast, Are You a Charlotte?, that her goal was to get through it without crying. She succeeded and felt it was a heartfelt moment for both her and Parker.
