Is There a Streaming Issue with RuPaul’s Drag Race?
A brand new season of RuPaul’s Drag Race is airing now, but if you’re trying to watch without cable, you might run into some issues. The Emmy Award-winning drag competition series is on its 18th season, showcasing a fresh group of talented artists vying for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar. New episodes drop every Friday on MTV, but for those without cable, finding an official streaming option backed by the network to watch season 18 of RuPaul’s Drag Race isn’t so simple.
With MTV as the show’s home network, which is owned by Paramount, you might expect to catch the show on Paramount+. Surprisingly, that’s not the case. In a Reddit thread discussing how to watch season 18, a moderator made it clear that they’ve been flooded with inquiries about where to watch the latest episodes. They set up a dedicated thread to help viewers find the show, and are now removing any new posts asking the same question to avoid overwhelming the subreddit.
Fans are feeling the frustration. One Reddit user voiced their annoyance, sharing, “Every season I get so frustrated because it’s always a different streaming service, a different channel, and I never know where I can find it. It’s ridiculous and I do not understand why it’s like this because the show is popular and generates a lot of money. … It’s already bad enough they took away the MTV app. I’m ready to say forget it. And I’m a die-hard fan.”
