Alex Kurtzman on the Future of Star Trek and Paramount’s New Leadership
ng with them on Starfleet Academy“What was so cool to watch — and a very rewarding moment for me — was filing to the finish line on a show that could be relentlessly optimistic,” Kurtzman says of Strange New Worlds. “Gene Roddenberry’s vision was that the future was going to be a place where our best selves would be able to solve problems on a global scale together. It feels like that’s the only answer.”
In his own way, Kurtzman’s Star Trek is just that: a continuously evolving vision of a hopeful future that, even amid multiple regime shifts and contract negotiations, persists forward without fail.
Stay tuned — I’ll have much more on Kurtzman’s path forward in the coming days. And as always, for tips, feedback and scoops, send me a note at [email protected].
Until next time …
