“Stranger Things” Tops U.S. Streaming Originals Chart for Week Ending Dec. 28

Great news for fans of “Stranger Things”! The beloved Netflix series made its way back to the number one spot on the Whip Media chart of streaming originals for the week ending on December 28. Thanks to the release of the second installment of its fifth and final season on December 25, the show climbed an impressive five spots from the previous week.

“Stranger Things” boasts an ensemble cast featuring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, and more. Set in the 1980s, the series follows the residents of Hawkins, Indiana, as they navigate the challenges posed by a nearby human experimentation facility that inadvertently creates a portal to a dangerous alternate dimension called the Upside Down. Season five, set in the fall of 1987, finds the town struggling to recover from the rifts caused by a military takeover, bringing the show’s heroes together. Fans can expect the final episode of the season to drop on December 31.

In other streaming news, Apple TV’s “Pluribus” slipped to the number two spot, followed by Prime Video’s “Fallout” at number three and Paramount+’s “Landman” at number four. Disney+ premiered season two of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” on December 10, landing the show in the fifth spot on the chart.
