New LGBTQ+ Content Streaming on Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, BET+, and Paramount+ in January 2026

It’s a new year, and that means new TV shows featuring lesbian, bisexual, and queer women characters are hitting the screen. We’re also looking forward to possible queer storylines on popular medical dramas. Who knows, maybe this year we’ll hear a character on The Pitt declare “I am gay,” or something along those lines. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Returning for its second season on January 5 is Brilliant Minds on ABC. Starring gay actor Zachary Quinto, the show follows a gay neurologist who takes a unique approach to medicine. The talented Dana Dang plays Aury Krebs, a lesbian neurologist on his team, and Mishel Prada from Vida plays her girlfriend.

Over at BET+, The Ms. Pat Show is coming back for its fifth season on January 7. This sitcom follows a former drug dealer turned suburban mom, who also has a lesbian daughter. Get ready for a wild and uproarious season with a guest appearance from Raven-Symoné.

On January 8, 9-1-1 and its spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville, are returning for their ninth and first seasons, respectively. Look out for Hen as she deals with health issues and the 118 team swings back into action.

Fans of Grey’s Anatomy will be excited to know that Season 22 is back on January 8. While some fans are still processing the fate of Dr. Beltran, played by Natalie Morales, Sophia Bush’s character is stirring things up by starting to date Teddy.

And on January 8, Peacock is premiering season four of The Traitors, featuring an exciting cast with names like Kristen Kish from Top Chef, Porsha Williams from Real Housewives of Potomac, who recently came out as bisexual, and Monét X Change from Drag Race. Let’s hope Michael Rapaport doesn’t spoil the fun this season!
