Nicolas Cage Transforms Into John Madden in Madden Teaser
Nicolas Cage is stepping into the shoes of NFL legend-turned-video game icon John Madden in the upcoming biopic “Madden,” and the first teaser trailer has been unleashed for all to see.
In the teaser, Cage, portraying Madden, delivers a powerful line, stating, “They have no idea where we are, who we are, where we’re coming from, or who we’re throwing to.” The teaser was debuted during the Denver Broncos-Kansas City Chiefs game, which was aired on Prime Video on Christmas night.
The film will take viewers on Madden’s journey from his humble beginnings to becoming an NFL legend as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, transitioning to a successful commentator, and later becoming a pop culture icon as the face and voice behind the John Madden Football and Madden NFL video games that took off in the 1980s.
Joining Cage in the cast is Christian Bale, who plays Al Davis, the owner of the Raiders during Madden’s time with the team. Other cast members include John Mulaney as tech entrepreneur Trip Hawkins, Kathryn Hahn as Madden’s wife, Virginia, and Sienna Miller as Davis’s wife, Carol.
Directed and written by David O. Russell, known for films like “Silver Linings Playbook” and “American Hustle,” “Madden” is set to premiere on Prime Video on Thanksgiving Day in 2026. Keep an eye out for this highly-anticipated film coming to screens soon.
