Stephen King’s Latest Film Now Available for Streaming: A Must-Watch

s works deal with horror, science fiction, and/or dystopian futures, but one of the adaptations that arrived in 2025 was actually a big departure from the author’s usual fare.

It’s an uplifting and emotional exploration of what it means to live a life, and it just finally made its streaming debut on Hulu. Hulu brought the acclaimed Stephen King drama The Life of Chuck to its streaming lineup on the morning of December 26th.

This unique film, directed by Mike Flanagan of The Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep fame, tells the story of a single man in reverse order, starting with his death and the subsequent death of the universe. The movie stars Tom Hiddleston as the adult version of Chuck, along with a stellar cast that includes Jake Tremblay, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Karen Gillan, among others.

If you see the name “Stephen King” and expect something like The Shining or Salem’s Lot, you might be surprised by The Life of Chuck. It’s more akin to stories like The Shawshank Redemption or The Green Mile, though slightly more family-friendly (but still rated R).

After The Life of Chuck, Hulu’s next big offering is the Alison Brie and Dave Franco horror film Together, set to hit the streaming service on December 31st. Looking ahead to 2026, Hulu has already shared its lineup for January 1st, so you can see all the exciting movies and TV shows coming to the platform in the new year.
