Ultimate 2025 Streaming Guide: Top 7 Shows to Binge this Holiday Season

I watch a lot of TV shows, and this year alone, I’ve already seen over 55 new ones from all the top streaming services out there. From HBO Max’s “The Pitt” to Netflix’s “Adolescence,” I’ve had a lot to watch. On average, this means I’m checking out at least one new show every week. But, despite my best efforts, I still sometimes miss out on some amazing shows. Unfortunately, Netflix shows tend to slip past me the most because I prefer weekly releases that give me a reason to catch up on a show that’s a few episodes in. However, now that I have the holidays coming up, I’m excited to have some extra time to catch up on all the shows I missed in 2025.

I’m planning to watch seven shows that I missed this year, some from Netflix and others from Prime Video and more. If you’re looking for something to binge-watch over the holidays, here are the shows that are on my catch-up list:

“American Primeval” on Netflix caught my attention at the start of the year. Starring Taylor Kitsch, this dark and gritty show explores the Utah War, a lesser-known part of American history. With a stellar cast including Kim Coates, Jai Courtney, Kyle Bradly Davis, and Shea Whigham, along with direction by Peter Berg and music by Explosions in the Sky, this six-part miniseries seems like a real gem. I’m excited to finally watch it during the holidays.

“Dept. Q” on Netflix is another show that intrigued me. A crime thriller series starring Matthew Goode as Carl Morck, a detective leading a cold case unit in Edinburgh, this show gives off vibes of other hits like “Slow Horses” and “Broadchurch.” Created by Scott Frank, the writer of acclaimed series like “The Queen’s Gambit,” this show seems tailor-made for fans of mystery and intrigue.

These are just two of the shows on my binge-watching list this holiday season. With such compelling storylines and talented actors, I can’t wait to dive into these series and catch up on the amazing TV shows I missed in 2025. Whether you’re a fan of thrillers, dramas, or historical fiction, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during this holiday break.
