Flivvers defeat Eskymos in GNC matchup
The Escanaba Eskymos had a strong start but ultimately fell short in a 47-29 loss to Kingsford. Senior Lennox Peacock led the way with nine points, but Kingsford’s Owen Olkkonen and Jack Kriegl helped the Flivvers surge ahead. Despite a good defensive effort, the Eskymos struggled to score in the second half.
In the second quarter, Kingsford took control, outscoring Escanaba 14-4. The Flivvers played more as a team, which led to their success in the game. Kingsford’s balanced scoring attack saw Olkkonen and Sorenson each finish with 11 points.
Although the Eskymos won the turnover battle, forcing 14 turnovers to their 11, they couldn’t capitalize on offense. In the end, Kingsford’s defensive effort limited Escanaba to only 16 points in the final three quarters.
