Wyatt Russell cast as young Lee Shaw in ‘Monarch’ spinoff

Apple TV+ has exciting news for fans of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters! A brand-new spinoff series starring Wyatt Russell has been announced. Not only will Russell star in the series, but he will also be an executive producer. This spinoff will focus on the character Lee Shaw, taking viewers on an adventure through his experiences in the 1980s.

For those eagerly awaiting Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, mark your calendars for the premiere on Feb. 27. The show delves into the world of Legendary’s Kong and Godzilla monster movies, exploring two different time periods. Wyatt Russell, along with his father Kurt, portray Lee in both the past and the present, adding a unique dynamic to the series.

Excitement has been building since Apple announced plans for this spinoff back in April 2024. The series will be showrun by Joby Harold, who has also signed an overall deal with Legendary that includes overseeing the Monsterverse. Fans can anticipate more monster mayhem in the near future, with “Godzilla x Kong: Supernova” set for release in 2027.

While we wait for these new monster adventures, there’s plenty of entertainment to enjoy on Apple TV+. From “Down Cemetery Road” to upcoming shows like “Tell Me Lies,” the streaming service continues to deliver diverse and engaging content for viewers of all tastes.
