AP Men’s College Basketball Top 25 Poll Analysis

The latest update of the men’s AP Top 25 poll doesn’t show much movement this week, with the Arizona Wildcats holding onto the number one spot. They made history with five wins against ranked opponents in their first nine games of the season. Next up, they face Abilene Christian on Tuesday.

The Michigan Wolverines, sitting at number two, scored 100 points for the fifth time this season in their win over Maryland. They will take on La Salle on Sunday.

Duke, ranked at number three, hasn’t played since their victory over Michigan State, where they secured their fourth win against a ranked opponent this season. They play Lipscomb on Tuesday.

The Iowa State Cyclones, at number four, are undefeated with an 11-0 record for the third time in program history. Their next game is against Long Beach State on Sunday.

UConn, ranked fifth, is also off to a strong start with a 10-1 record for the third time in four seasons. They will face Butler on Tuesday.

Purdue, ranked sixth, won their 11th straight game against an unranked opponent and will be playing against Auburn on Saturday.

Gonzaga, at number seven, has won all of their 10 games by double digits, the most of any Division I team this season. They take on Campbell on Wednesday.

Houston, ranked eighth, secured their third win by 40 or more points and will face Arkansas on Saturday.

Michigan State, at number nine, won a close game against Penn State and will play Toledo on Tuesday.

BYU, rounding out the top ten, saw AJ Dybantsa shine with his fifth game with 20 or more points. They play Pacific on Tuesday.

The rest of the top 25 teams are gearing up for their upcoming games, including Louisville, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and Nebraska, all looking to maintain their strong starts to the season.
