DIRECTV Adds Seven New Multiview Channels for Enhanced Home Streaming

DirectTV has some exciting news for home streamers – they’ve added seven new “Multiview Mix Channels” to their platform, allowing you to watch up to four live television channels at once on a single screen. It’s a game-changer for sports fans keeping track of multiple games, news junkies who always want to stay informed, or families with diverse TV tastes. You can switch between audio feeds on each channel or focus on one with just a click.

These Multiview Mix Channels are part of DirectTV’s Mix Channels package, which offers pre-curated channels based on different genres and interests. You can find options like a Sports Mix featuring ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, and NBC Sports Now, a League Sports mix with MLB Network, NBA TV, NFL Network, and NHL Network, and a News Mix with CNN, Fox News Channel, Fox Weather, and MSNBC. There’s also a Kids Mix with Disney Channel, Disney Jr., Disney XD, and Nickelodeon.

DirectTV even offers special packages like a Business Mix, a Locals Mix available in select markets with ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, and a Sunday Sports Mix for live sports on CBS, FOX, ESPN, and FS1 all at once. Whether you want to watch all four Mix Channels simultaneously or focus on one, DirectTV has you covered.

These Multiview Channels are included in most DirectTV streaming packages, with some available in select Genre Packs. Each channel is based on your DirectTV package, and the feature is exclusive to your television – not available on other devices.

DirectTV has a history of leading the way in multi-channel viewing technology, first introducing mix channels to their satellite TV subscribers in 2008. Now, they’re bringing the same experience to their OTT service, making it possible to watch live TV online without a satellite dish or cable box. In a blog post, DirectTV explained that this new generation of mix channels now brings this technology to streaming, offering a curated, genre-based layout for an enhanced viewing experience.
