Big East Women’s Basketball: UConn Wins vs South Florida; 5 League Games Set for Thursday

The BIG EAST Women’s Basketball action is heating up with some exciting games happening this week. On Thursday, December 4, there are five matchups to look forward to. Kicking things off is Providence taking on Xavier at 11 a.m. on ESPN+. Later in the evening, we have Butler at Seton Hall, Creighton at St. John’s, and Villanova at Georgetown, all at 7 p.m. DePaul will close out the day with a game against Marquette at 9 p.m. on Peacock.

In some Tuesday night recaps, #1 UConn dominated South Florida with a score of 85-51. Sarah Strong stood out with 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Blanca Quiñonez added 13 points off the bench. The Huskies’ defense was on fire, holding South Florida to only 16 points in the first half.

There was also an exciting matchup between rv Princeton and Seton Hall with Princeton coming out on top 82-78. Savannah Catalon was the standout player for Seton Hall with 24 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Jada Eads also had an impressive double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Looking ahead, there’s more #BEWBB action on Sunday, December 7. Butler will face Marquette, while #1 UConn will take on DePaul. Georgetown will play Wake Forest, Seton Hall will face rv NC State, and Providence will play St. John’s.
