Hulu Shutdown: Student Reactions

Disney’s decision to shut down Hulu in favor of migrating its content to Disney+ has caught the attention of many Guilford students, sparking a range of emotions from surprise to frustration. With Hulu being a familiar streaming service since 2007, the news has left students like junior Maeve Dunkerley feeling both surprised and confused about the ongoing transformations in the streaming landscape.

“I hadn’t heard about the plans to shut down Hulu,” shared Dunkerley. “My favorite thing on Hulu is definitely New Girl—it’s one of my go-to comfort shows.”
