Dominic McLaughlin, New Harry Potter Actor, Discusses Daniel Radcliffe’s Letter

Dominic McLaughlin recently shared in an interview on BBC’s “Saturday Mash-Up! Live” that receiving a personal letter from Daniel Radcliffe, the original Harry Potter, was an incredible experience. Radcliffe had sent words of encouragement to McLaughlin before filming began on HBO’s “Harry Potter” series reboot.

McLaughlin described the moment as “insane” when he received the letter from Radcliffe. He recalled how his Dad handed him the letter on a train, and when he reached the bottom and saw it was signed “Dan R.,” he couldn’t contain his excitement, even though he had to play it cool on the train.

The filming of the new “Harry Potter” series on HBO is reportedly going extremely well, according to McLaughlin. He shared that he has formed great friendships with everyone on set and is enjoying the experience.

Radcliffe himself mentioned on “Good Morning America” that he had written a letter to McLaughlin and received a sweet note back from him. In this new rendition of “Harry Potter,” McLaughlin leads the cast as Harry, alongside Alastair Stour as Ron, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione.
