5 HBO Shows Renewed, Including TASK!

HBO’s got some big news for fans of their hit shows! Casey Bloys, the Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max Content, recently revealed that several popular series have been renewed for new seasons. And some of these renewals came as a surprise, as I originally thought they were limited series meant to only run for one season. Let’s take a look at which shows are coming back for more.

First up, we have “The Chair Company.” Tim Robinson & Zach Kanin’s half-hour comedy starring Robinson as William Ronald Trosper was thought to be a one-season show, but it’s actually gearing up for a sophomore season. The show has been a hit with audiences and critics, with a perfect 100 Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans can look forward to more of Robinson’s hilarious antics late in 2026 or into 2027.

Next, we have “I Love LA,” a Gen Z story following Rachel Sennott’s character Maia and her friends as they navigate life in Los Angeles. This critically acclaimed show has also been picked up for a second season, set to premiere in late 2026 or 2027. With glowing reviews and a rapidly growing fanbase, “I Love LA” continues to be a standout comedy for HBO.

And for all the “Game of Thrones” fans, get ready for “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.” This upcoming series has already been renewed for a second season, even before the first season debuts in January 2026. Set in the world of Westeros, the show promises to deliver an endearing tale centered on the adventures of Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and Egg. Fans can expect a new season in 2027.

Additionally, the prequel series “House of the Dragon,” based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” is returning for a third season in Summer 2026, with a fourth season set to debut in 2028. Set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” this series dives deep into the history of House Targaryen and promises epic battles and intrigue.

Last but not least, fans of the suspenseful drama “TASK” will be thrilled to know that the show has been renewed for more episodes. Creator Brad Ingelsby has impressed audiences with his balance of humanistic storytelling and intricate plotting, making “TASK” a must-watch series. Mark Ruffalo’s return as Agent Brandis is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

HBO is dedicated to delivering high-quality content and these renewals are a testament to their commitment to providing engaging and captivating entertainment for viewers. So make sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming seasons of these exciting shows!
