T-Mobile Ends Apple TV Subscription Payment

T-Mobile has decided to end its complimentary “Apple TV on Us” offer starting January 1, 2026. Since 2021, T-Mobile has been providing free access to Apple’s video-streaming service. However, when Apple raised its monthly price from $9.99 to $12.99 in August, T-Mobile is now going to pass on the $3 difference to its customers.

For the next six months, T-Mobile will continue to cover the original $9.99 charge, with customers responsible for the remaining $3. According to T-Mobile’s support page, customers should prepare for the new $3 monthly fee starting January 1, 2026, after applying the T-Mobile discount.

This change affects customers on various T-Mobile plans, including Experience More, Experience Beyond, Go5G Plus, Go5G Next, Magenta MAX, Magenta Plus, and ONE Plus. After the initial six-month period, the subscription will automatically renew at the new price of $12.99 per month. Customers are being informed about this change through text messages from T-Mobile, which also recently raised prices on its legacy plans by $5 per month.

Apple’s video-streaming service was recently rebranded from Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV. According to Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of services, the company decided to remove the “+” from the name because it’s usually associated with a free basic tier, which was not the case for Apple TV. Apple has no plans to introduce an ad-supported tier and is now including previously paywalled content, such as F1 races and Major League Soccer, at no additional cost on Apple TV.
