Apple TV+ Rose Parade Float Pays Homage to Pasadena

Apple TV+ is honoring Pasadena with its first-ever Rose Parade float, themed “We’re getting there. Together.” The float captures the essence of teamwork, aligning with the parade’s theme of celebrating collaboration for a better world.

Featuring affirmations like “You. Belong Here.” and “Yes You Can,” the float is adorned with beautiful florals and pays homage to Pasadena landmarks, including the Colorado Street Bridge.

The message of togetherness and community support from Apple TV’s show “Shrinking” resonates perfectly with the float’s theme. The show, now in its third season, highlights the importance of found family and building support during tough times.

Designed and built by Phoenix Decorating Company, the 55-foot-long float is inspired by the beauty of Pasadena’s neighborhoods and parks. Actors from “Shrinking,” including Luke Tennie and Ted McGinley, are set to ride the float during the parade.

Tennie, who plays Sean, shared his love for Pasadena and how filming in the city’s iconic locations helped bring the show to life. The idyllic setting represented on the float reflects the picturesque image of LA, according to Tennie.

Having transitioned from aspirations of being a professional athlete to pursuing acting, Tennie credits a teacher for igniting his passion for drama. After smaller roles, Tennie landed his breakout role in “Shrinking” through a self-take audition during the pandemic.

Joining the talented cast of “Shrinking,” which includes stars like Jason Segal and Harrison Ford, Tennie has embraced the comedy genre, learning from his experienced co-stars. From comedic timing to camera angles, Tennie appreciates the diverse talents within the cast and looks forward to showcasing the show’s essence during the Rose Parade.
