Scream of My Blood Film Screening and Director Q&A at Bushel on Nov 22

Bushel will be hosting a special screening of “Scream of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story” on Saturday, November 22, at 7:30 pm, right here at 106 Main Street in Delhi. The doors will open at 7 pm, and the screening will kick off promptly at 7:30 pm. A suggested donation of $10–15 is encouraged for entry to this exciting event.

This punk-rock documentary delves into the life of Eugene Hütz, the captivating frontman of Gogol Bordello, as he uses his music to stand up for Ukraine’s cultural identity in the face of threats. The film features never-before-seen footage spanning two decades, including live performances, behind-the-scenes moments, and personal interviews. Hütz, a Romani native of Ukraine, left his home country during the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster. Now, after using his music to work through his own struggles, he is returning home to confront his past. “Scream of My Blood” beautifully portrays the importance of staying true to oneself, regardless of the challenges faced.

Eric Weinrib, one of the co-directors of the film, will be present at the screening and shared, “Delhi holds a special place in my heart. It feels like coming home to share this project at Bushel.” Weinrib, an alumnus of SUNY Delhi, has an impressive filmmaking background, with his work featured on various platforms and receiving critical acclaim.

Nate Pommer, the other director of the film, is an accomplished filmmaker with experience in both directing and editing. His previous works have been showcased at prestigious film festivals and events. “Scream of My Blood” marks his debut feature film, earning him recognition as a promising new director.

Producer Beverly Chase, a veteran in the industry with decades of experience, has been instrumental in bringing impactful storytelling to audiences. Her production company, Rising Shed, is dedicated to creating compelling nonfiction content that resonates with viewers.
