New Star Trek Film by Dungeons & Dragons Duo: Jonathan Goldstein & John …

Paramount has brought on board Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to work on a new Star Trek movie that aims to breathe new life into the franchise after almost a decade without any new films. You may know these two from their work on Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and writing credits on Spider-Man: Homecoming. This fresh take on the Star Trek universe will not be a continuation of the J.J. Abrams reboot series and will feature a completely new cast, meaning no Chris Pine or other actors from those movies will be making an appearance.

While the exact storyline is being kept under wraps, what we do know is that this project is a standalone venture that does not tie into any previous TV series, films, or other development projects in the Star Trek universe. The last Star Trek movie to hit the big screens was Star Trek Beyond back in 2016, so fans have been eagerly awaiting this new installment.

Interestingly, there have been several attempts to kickstart new Star Trek projects in the past, including efforts by directors such as Quentin Tarantino, Noah Hawley, and Matt Shakman that unfortunately never came to fruition. On a positive note, Goldstein and Daley have recently wrapped up the movie Mayday, starring Ryan Reynolds, which is set to premiere on Apple TV+.

Exciting times ahead for Star Trek fans as we eagerly anticipate the return of this beloved franchise to the silver screen! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for more updates on this new movie as details unfold.
