Disney+ Streaming Subscribers Increase by 3.8 Million Amid Growing Streaming Profits
Streaming has become a major moneymaker for Disney, with their latest quarterly earnings showing steady growth. While traditional TV revenue is stagnant, Disney’s streaming business is on the rise. In Q4, Disney+ subscribers jumped by 3.8 million to hit 132 million, while Disney+ and Hulu together reached 196 million subscribers, up by 12.4 million.
The company’s direct-to-consumer revenue saw an 8% increase to $6.2 billion, with operating income rising by 39% to $352 million. Despite events like the Jimmy Kimmel controversy and price hikes, subscriber numbers are still climbing. These increases are impressive, especially considering the potential impact of these events on subscriber retention.
Disney seems to have found the winning formula with their streaming services. With more subscribers joining each quarter, the future looks bright for Disney’s streaming platforms.
