Harry Aikines-Aryeetey Eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey bid farewell to the dance floor as the sixth celebrity eliminated from the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing. The 37-year-old athlete and former Team GB sprinter, also known as Nitro on Gladiators, found himself in the dance off with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star La Voix and Aljaž Škorjanec. Unfortunately, the judges unanimously voted to save La Voix, sending Aikines-Aryeetey home.
Despite his elimination, Aikines-Aryeetey expressed gratitude for the experience, calling his time on Strictly a dream come true. He thanked his professional partner Karen Hauer for helping him shine and for understanding his unique perspective. Hauer, in return, shared her pride and admiration for Aikines-Aryeetey, praising his work ethic and willingness to learn.
Last year, Aikines-Aryeetey participated in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special, and his appearance on the main show followed in the footsteps of his Gladiators co-star Montell Douglas, who reached week 10 of the 2024 series.
In other news from the dance floor, EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal wowed the judges with a Bhangra-inspired routine to “Sapphire” by Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh, securing her spot in the next round. However, ER and Doctor Who actor Alex Kingston faced challenges due to her numerical dyslexia, which impacted her performance during the paso doble on Saturday night’s episode. Despite lower scores and feedback pointing to a lack of confidence, Kingston continues to push through and give her best effort.
As the competition heats up, tune in to Strictly Come Dancing on November 15th at 6.25pm to see the remaining celebrities take the dance floor.
