Season 2 Landman Cast Changes: Find Out Who’s Not Returning
Season 2 of “Landman,” starring Billy Bob Thornton, is just around the corner, set to premiere on Paramount+ this Sunday, November 16. However, fans may notice some familiar faces missing from the lineup this time around.
In case you missed it, there are spoilers ahead from season 1 of “Landman.” Unfortunately, Jon Hamm will not be reprising his role as Monty Miller in season 2 after a dramatic storyline with a massive heart attack during the finale. Christian Wallace, one of the series co-creators, confirmed in an interview with Variety that Monty has indeed passed away, opening up new opportunities for the rest of the cast.
On the bright side, Demi Moore fans will be happy to hear that she will have a more prominent role in season 2 as Cami Miller, Monty’s widow. Some reshuffling is also happening, with Moore’s name now appearing closer to the top alongside Billy Bob Thornton’s character, Tommy Norris.
Another actor not returning for season 2 is Alex Meraz, who played Jimenez, the drug cartel lieutenant. Meraz’s character also met an untimely demise in season 1. Despite these losses, fans can look forward to seeing Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, and other main cast members returning for the upcoming season.
There are also a few new faces joining the cast, including Stefania Spampinato from “Grey’s Anatomy” and Sam Elliott. Thornton hinted at some family dynamics between his character and Elliott’s, referring to him as “pop” in the season 2 trailer.
“Landman,” which premiered in 2024, follows the journey of Tommy, a petroleum Landman and VP of Operations at M-Tex Oil. With the new season fast approaching, fans can expect Tommy to encounter new challenges and pressures, especially with the added presence of Monty’s widow, Cami.
Be sure to catch the premiere of season 2 of “Landman” on Paramount+ this Sunday, November 16, for all the drama and intrigue.
